Poached for their ivory, African elephants are now in great danger.
Their workforce fell by more than a third between 2007 and 2014!

China, the main destination for ivory, has banned imports and will close its markets by the end of 2017.
The United States, for its part, has almost completely banned ivory trade.
Today, however, ivory continues to be legally sold in the European Union under different derogatory statutes.

For example, in the European Union, legal ivory can be used as a blanket for laundering illegal ivory.
This system allows unscrupulous people to feed the consuming countries of Southeast Asia.

Between 2006 and 2015, the European Union was by far the largest exporter of ivory with 28.3% of exports, far ahead of the United States and South Africa.

The increase in transactions is alarming.
Between 2014 and 2015, the European Union exported 1,258 defenses, more than the combined total of the previous eight years!

The main channels that are problematic?
Auction houses that are not immune to errors and Internet, anonymous, global, open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and therefore conducive to criminal activities.
